MetalCore is an upcoming blockchain game to be released at the end of 2022, and the first NFT sale will take place in January that year. Little has been published in terms of gameplay and specs. Being a 3D game with impressive designs, many hope to play it with their VR headset for even more immersion.

Beside MetalCore, Another Mech Game for the Oculus Quest 2

Despite the lack of direct information on virtual reality for MetalCore, digging in the Studio 369 website (MetalCore’s developer) gives a few clues.

The video game developer is currently working on an Oculus Quest 2 title looking a lot like MetalCore: World of Mech VR.

The game is presented as follows: “World class Vehicle Manufacturers design and custom-build Mechs – anthropomorphic mechanized tanks operated by pilots – and pit them against each other in a series of illicit, explosive, internet-broadcast duels in active combat zones around the world.” The image below shows just how much the design is close to MetalCore’s (being a mech game):

The goal is to pit your Mechs against each other in a series of illicit, explosive, internet-broadcast duels in active combat zones. The game is currently in alpha, meaning the video game developer is actively working on the game currently. The idea of a VR mech game is quite exciting, especially given the very limited offer in that segment on the Oculus Quest 2.

With such an experience on a game that seems so close to MetalCore, it’s easy to expect it to be available in VR. We expect this information to be revealed before the end of 2021. But the implementation of VR within the game would come later than the initial release of MetalCore. The team behind it has indeed set quite ambitious goals, and there are many other targets to hit before.
